Wǒ wèn nǐ gè wèntí nǐ jièyì ma?
Do you mind if I ask you a question?
♦B: 不介意。问吧。
Bù jièyì. Wèn ba.
No, not at all. Go ahead.
♦A: 你怎样提高你的英语?
Nǐ zěnyàng tígāo nǐ de yīngyǔ?
What do you do in order to improve your English?
♦B: 我看电影,听演讲,听 广播,方法很多。最重要的是 ,我抓住每一个可以练 英语的机会。
Wǒ kàn diànyǐng, tīng yǎnjiǎng, tīng guǎngbò, fāngfǎ hěnduō. Zuì zhòngyào de shì, wǒ zhuā zhù měi yīgè kěyǐ liàn yīngyǔ de jīhuì.
I go to movies; I go to lectures; I listen to the radio; I do lots of things. Most importantly, I practice every chance I get.
♦A: 有收音机倒是学英语的 好办法,对不对?
Yǒu shōuyīnjī dǎoshì xué yīngyǔ de hǎo bànfǎ, duì bùduì?
It’s a good idea to have a radio, isn’t it?
♦B: 对。就好像是接电话一 样,你看不到对方!这对提高听力很有帮助 。
Duì. Jiù hǎoxiàng shì jiē diànhuà yīyàng, nǐ kàn bù dào duìfāng! Zhè duì tígāo tīnglì hěn yǒu bāngzhù.
Sure. It’s like understanding on the telephone– you can’t see the speaker! It’s great for improving listening comprehension.
♦A: 学语言要很长的时间, 对不对?
Xué yǔyán yào hěn zhǎng de shíjiān, duì bùduì?
It takes a long time to learn a language, doesn’t it?
♦B: 当然是了。但如果你每天都利用零 碎时间苦练说,而且说实用的句子,那 你会进步很快。
Dāngrán shìle. Dàn rúguǒ nǐ měi tiān dū lìyòng língsuì shíjiān kǔ liàn shuō, érqiě shuō shíyòng de jùzi, nà nǐ huì jìnbù hěn kuài.
It certainly does. But if you practice speaking every spare minute and learn useful sentences every day you can make big progress.
