Today’s Cantonese lesson I will teach you how to use dáng in Cantonese language, dáng mean wait in Chinese and also Cantonese, but it also means let, here and some examples.
dáng (somebody)…+ Action : To let somebody to do something/ to wait for somebody等我 + Action
Examples:
- dáng ngóh tái háh yáuh móuh yàhn wán néih sīn 等我睇下有冇人搵你先
- néih dáng kéuih heui hohk haauh jip go jái fāan làih sīn góng lā.你等佢去學校接個仔返黎先講啦。
- dáng màh mā fāan dou ūk kéi ngóh deih joi hōi chí sihk faahn lā.等媽媽返到屋企我地再開始食飯啦。
- ngóh séung dáng kéuih mìhng baahk ngóh dōu hóu jūng yi kéuih.我想等佢明白我都好鍾意佢。
