♦A:故宫是不是又被称为紫禁城?
Gùgōng shì bùshì yòu bèi chēng wèi zǐjìnchéng?
Is the Palace Museum also called “the Forbidden City”?
♦B:对。紫禁城是明清两代的皇宫,故宫是后来的名字。
Duì. Zǐjìnchéng shì míng qīng liǎng dài de huánggōng, gùgōng shì hòulái de míngzì.
Yes. The Forbidden City is the imperial palace for the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now it is referred to as the “Palace Museum”.
♦A:故宫能被保存得这么完好,真不可思议。
Gùgōng néng bèi bǎocún de zhème wánhǎo, zhēn bùkěsīyì.
It is a surprise that the Forbidden City is well-preserved.

Yeah. The Palace Museum is the most famous cultural relic in China. And it was also recognized as a world cultural legacy by UNESCO in 1988.
