Wǒ cóngxiǎo jiù zhīdào zhōngguó yǒu wànlǐ chángchéng, jīntiān zhōngyú qīnyǎn jiàn dàole.
I had known about the Great Wall since I was a child, and I finally get to see it in person today.
Súhuà shuō “bù dào chángchéng fēi hǎohàn”, nǐ jīntiān yě chéng le hǎohàn le.
They say:”You are not a hero unless you climb onto the Great Wall.” You are a hero today.
♦A:是啊!
Shì a! Chángchéng quèshí liǎobùqǐ, zài zhème gāo de shānshàng xiūzhù qǐ zhème xióngwěi de chéngqiáng zhēn bù róngyì.
Yeah! The Great Wall is indeed magnificent. Building defense walls among high mountains is not easy.
Chángchéng yuánxiān shi yòngtǔ xiūzhù qǐlái de, dàole míngdài cái gǎijiàn chéng le zhuān shí jiégòu, jiùshì wǒmen xiànzài kàn dào de zhèyàng.
The Great Wall was made of earth first and rebuilt with bricks during the Ming Dynasty, which is what we see now.
Zǎoxiān xiū chángchéng wánquán shì wèile fángyù ma?
Was it used for defense purposes in the past?
Yeah, but during the Qing Dynasty, it gradually lost its original function.
Wèile jìniàn rénlèi de zhè yī jiézuò wǒmen zài cǐ pāi zhāng zhàopiàn ba.
Let’s take a picture here in honor of the masterpiece of mankind.
