Zuò fàn xūyào bāngmáng ma?
Do you need any help in the kitchen?

I could use a little help with the sauce. Do you mind?

Xiān xǐshǒu, guō li yǒu niúnǎi, nǐ wǎng lǐmiàn jiā jièmò.
Well, after you wash your hands, you could add the mustard to the milk in the saucepan.
♦B:要搅拌吗?
Yào jiǎobàn ma?
Do I need to stir it?
♦A:需要,牛奶加热时要不停地搅拌。如果不搅拌的话就会烧糊或者结块。
Xūyào, niúnǎi jiārè shí yào bù tíng de jiǎobàn. Rúguǒ bù jiǎobàn dehuà jiù huì shāo hu huòzhě jié kuài.
Yes, milk should always be stirred when it’s being heated. If it’s not ,it could burn or congeal.
♦B:牛奶和芥末需要搅多长时间?
Niúnǎi hé jièmò xūyào jiǎo duō cháng shíjiān?
How long should I stir the milk and the mustard?
♦A:煮到快开锅了就行。
Zhǔ dào kuài kāiguō le jiùxíng.
Just bring it to a simmer.
♦B:还需要加其他什么调料吗?
Hái xūyào jiā qítā shénme tiáoliào ma?
Do I need to add any other seasoning to it?
♦A:如果你喜欢的话还可以撒点胡椒和盐。
Rúguǒ nǐ xǐhuan dehuà hái kěyǐ sā diǎn hújiāo hé yán.
You can sprinkle it with some pepper and salt if you want.
♦B:煮沸之后怎么办?
Zhǔfèi zhīhòu zěnme bàn?
What should I do when it starts simmering?
♦A:你可以往里加酱油、醋、红辣椒粉和芝麻。
Nǐ kěyǐ wǎng lǐjiā jiàngyóu, cù, hóng làjiāo fěn hé zhīma.
You can add some soy sauce , vinegar, red chilli powder, and some sesame seeds.
♦B:这个酱是配什么菜的?
Zhège jiàng shì pèi shénme cài de?
What are we going to eat this sauce with?
♦A:是用来拌面条的。
Shì yòng lái bàn miàntiáo de.
It’s going to go over some noodles.
♦B:那我再磨一点干酪加进去吧。
Nà wǒ zài mó yīdiǎn gānlào jiā jìnqù ba.
I’ll just grate a bit of cheese on it, too.
♦A:如果你觉得那样味道更好,就加吧。
Rúguǒ nǐ juéde nàyàng wèidào gèng hǎo, jiù jiā ba.
If you think it’ll taste good, go ahead.
